Increased Skin Pigmentation

Hyperpigmentation is a medical term used to describe darker patches of skin. These patches result from excess melanin production, which can be caused by everything from acne and acne scars and sun damage to hormone fluctuations.

If you’re dealing with hyperpigmentation, know that you aren’t alone. Hyperpigmentation is a very common skin condition, and there are a number of different treatment options available. Depending on the cause and current condition, the following treatments can be used alone or in combination:

  1. Depigmentation creams.

  2. Chemical Peels

  3. Retinoids.

  4. Laser peels

  5. Microdermabrasion.

  6. Dermabrasion.

Each of these treatments act at different levels of the skin and decrease the pigment load and allow your skin to come back to it's natural state and colour.
