Fillers

What are Dermal Fillers Used for?

This minimal-invasive, non-surgical procedure helps improve the tone appearance of the face, providing higher levels of confidence and comfort. Fillers may be used for the folowing:

Enhancing the contour of thinner lips, for a smoother and plumper appearance.

Facial scars resurfacing.

Decrease lines and wrinkles in the face for a more youthful, relaxed appearance.

Improve shallowness in the face, thereby altering the contours.

Improve the look of hollow/dark circles under the eyes

To make the cheekbones and other areas of the face more prominent.

Types of Fillers

Fillers can be temporary, semi-permanent, or permanent and are made of different materials. Although they are used alone, they are also used as part of comprehensive regimens including other treatments like threads, botox injections and laser treatment, for overall skin rejuvenation.

The dermatologist will review all of your available options depending on your targeted areas and goals. Softer fillers will be used in places like the lips, while firmer fillers will be used for areas like the cheekbones. Botox is not a facial filler but can be used simultaneously with certain facial fillers to complement the effects and maximize the results, primarily on the forehead and around the nose and mouth.

Dr. Sonia Raghukumar specializes in the area of fillers, and believes in an artistic approach to the use of fillers as well as other modalities to acheive a refined and natural look, rather than a "done" look. No two treatments will be the same, as each is individualized.
