Acne and Rosacea

Acne can include the development of blackheads, whiteheads, and pustules along with cysts and nodules. Although mainly seen on the face, they may develop lesions on the back, chest or neck. Acne can also develop on the shoulders, upper arms or buttocks. We at Niara Aesthetics offer a wide array of treatments depending on the severity of the condition.

We are at the fore-front of acne treatment and take this diagnosis very seriously as well as the psychosocial impacts it can have on our patients lives. While acne lesions, or pimples, may come and go, sometimes they leave acne scars or pigmentation that can cause severe emotional distress to our patients. That’s why we care about treating this skin condition aggressively when necessary, and more conservatively when appropriate.

How to treat Acne?

Starting from adequate skincare in the form of special cleansing and moisturizing products (that contain benzoyl peroxide or salicyclic acid to reduce inflammation and inhibit bacterial growth) , to medicinal acne facials (which also reduce inflammation and interfere with bacterial reproduction while removing accumulated oil and debris) to a large number of prescription topicals as well as antibiotics and Isotretinoin may all be reqired based on each persons skin type and severity. For women, birth control pills or other medications may correct hormone imbalances that may produce outbreaks.

While every treatment has possible side effects, your dermatologist at Niara Aesthetics will work with you to create a treatment plan that’s right for you, and will describe what steps need to be taken and help you stick to it.
